I’m Hooked!

No…really…what to do if you bury a hook in yourself.

One of my most amazing feats fishing a lifetime is, I’ve buried a hook past the barb into myself only once. Even then, it was a shallow “stick”. I remember just pulling it out and yes, that barb really tears up the skin. But I’ve never stuck one deep.

I saw I post from a fellow fisherman last week that had just returned from the emergency room after removal of a deep set. Any of us that spends much time chasing fish knows the old string and yank trick. But I’ve examined and practiced that many times-looks to me like a “maybe” proposition. The fellow fisherman tried the string (or line, small rope, whaterver…) trick. But location of the hook made it nearly impossible for him to remove it. So, 66 years later it dawns on me, “I need a method that me alone can execute 99% of the time-after all-I’m well overdue!

This is fairly new. And possibly the best part of the Dhukr is Captain Mike’s demonstration how to use it. I’ll spare you his videos not for the squeamish-this guy buries hooks in his fingers and arms over and over for multiple videos, to demonstrate! Search “Captain Mike Dhukr”. 🥴 Instead, I’ll provide the dummy arm demo video. https://youtube.com/shorts/h6XeNhq2blw?is=3Kgi7VCZTCSBBdau

These are a little pricy. But the emergency room is a lot more pricy.
